It's like the ORG Gods have chosen to smite me.
One tidbit of good news is that I forgot that I knew Jason (J.W.). I've hosted him, actually! And he was an extremely competent player who, from what I remember, would make a fantastic ally. We had a brief conversation tonight and it went very well.
But that doesn't make up for the fact that I have The Variable and Derp on my tribe. Now, don't get me wrong. I actually do like "the Carter" (can we please call him that?) and Rob on a personal level. That said, I'm not thrilled that they're both on the same tribe as me.
First, because Rob, at least, expects me to work with him. And while it worked out well in Season 5, he's not exactly a fan favorite around these parts (or so I've heard). So attaching myself to that sinking ship early is not necessarily advantageous. Tonight, he immediately messages me that Carter, he, and I will be working together on this tribe. That sounds like a group of real fucking All-Stars right there, right?
The other main problem here is that even if we don't work together, the other four on our tribe will definitely think we will. I have little doubt that the first boot will be someone from Season 5. It's an easy target for people to attack, especially in an All-Star game where there really aren't any easy boots. So in a sense, I may be forced to work with Rob and Carter purely out of necessity because other people think that we're working together. Does that make sense? I hope it does.
I don't see this tribe winning many challenges. With my fucked up schedule, coupled with the less-than-stellar challenge skills of Rob and Carter, we're not really looking that strong.
