S & M Lessons Kourtney - Oh true We've probably gotta do something even if it's not immunity related
Shawna - yeah sadists!
Kourtney - Looool So accurate Lex should be The Sadist not the Bastard
Shawna Mitchell - lol true sadist bastard
Kourtney - I think it has to do with Lex giving himself a title Also have you noticed that Brett doesn't have any arms/hands in the logo? Lol Yet he's smiling. I think Brett is the sadist!
Shawna - masochist!
Kourtney - Oooh good one Is there even a difference between those?
Shawna - yeah sadist likes to give pain masochist likes to receive it
Kourtney - Oooh interesting Something is definitely wrong when I'm talking S&M with a 16 year old.
So, we caught sausages (mine were obviously too slippery), appointed captains and picked tribes. I think our tribe is strong and am happy with it so far.
DD is hot for a 4-some of DD, Sydney, Kourtney and I. I'd be down with that. We've got Chase which is a mixed blessing for me since I know people see us as the Power Rangers. We have Neleh, who will be a help in challenges. Sean is my least favorite. I didn't get anything from our conversation and he proved to be disloyal in his season - and almost won. Nothing wrong with disloyalty - as long as it's not against me.
Other than that, all the buzz has been about Christa's replacement. I'm gathering it'll be Elyse (more on this if/when it happens.)

And so it starts. We have a TC - a big ass TC - without having even played for immunity. Things definitely heated up a bit last night with the announcement. We talked about suggesting Sekou in our own tribe chat - yes, yes we know you love him. Nobody cares. Quickly, things start happening outside the Baci Camp:
First, Jonas is suggesting Neleh as the vote since she's not around. Since this is a direct attack on our tribe, DD talks to Jonas and suggests we combine our votes with their Tribe (Feroca). A Two Tribe Blast Chat was established, and casual chit-chatting ensued. Funny that no vote talk occurred for most of the chat.
Shortly after, Sydney tells me/us she was invited into a Captains chat (minus Wanda) and it is suggested the four tribes vote together. From my secondhand information, Brandon seems to be the leader in this chat. Jonas is targeted because, apparently he's a big threat (I had no idea) and I guess Kimpy is really the one who wants Jonas out the most.
Finally, Jonas finds out, the blast chat immediately ceases and the campaigning begins. He says he has 6 votes outside of Feroca and Baci so, if we all vote to keep him, we're good. Of course, he won't name names at first...but when he finally does, it's determined these votes are people who are just telling him what he wants to hear. He may have a couple of votes (it's speculated he may really have Pete and Carter) but, not close to what he needs in order to swing a majority.
We all discussed this quite a bit as a tribe. I would feel better if someone less active than Jonas or someone perceived to be "less-deserving" was voted out, sure. But, is it worth rocking the boat to save someone who a) I have no connection with whatsoever; b) Is obviously seen as a big threat by many so probably is; and c) Is not even on my tribe? Nope.
So, a little back and forth still going on (mainly just stuff like - has anything changed, etc) and, maybe I shouldn't put this thought down right now but, it looks like the Jonas vote is kinda set in stone. C'est la vie.
------------------------------
More important than the vote (since it's not supposed to be me or anyone from my tribe), this is what I learned from last night's events:
- My tribe has some very compassionate people on it. I know that sounds hokey and, sure, people could just be exaggerating their feelings of empathy, and probably are. Still, though, I did like that DD and Sydney were both seemingly bothered by Jonas being targeted instead of Phillip or Sekou. I like that I'm aligned with people who at least have a conscience.
- Kourtney is sweet but could become a liability as she is definitely the social butterfly and also seems to have loose lips. At the point Jonas was hitting everyone up and trying to save himself, she volunteered herself to him and asked him to campaign to her. She was also going to make two parchments after we had already decided who to vote for. Maybe she's just ditzy, but I just want to be careful with her and the handling of information.
- Brandon has a TON of power in this game. I already knew he was well-connected but he is so in charge of this vote it's not even funny. I had a lengthy discussion with Sydney on this (more coming on that), and it made this fact even more prevalent. She seems to fear him a bit. Yes, from what I heard, Jonas was Kimpy's choice, but I am guessing it was only allowed because Brandon wanted it, too. His tribe has a lot of Season 2 people, as well as a couple Season 4. How was he allowed to assemble this tribe? This also tells me everyone wants to accommodate him.
- I'm definitely growing closer to Sydney. I find myself clicking more and more with her and we had an especially good talk last night right before I signed off. I feel that I can confide in her and she gets it. I definitely see how she did what she did in Season 3. Had we ever talked in that game (my bad), I probably would have understood the "Sydney Magic" and voted for her to win (her bad).
- I wasn't lying to you earlier about being a liar...but I don't think it's really my "theme" in this game. Sure, I'll lie if I need to but I won't be lying just to lie. The reason I enjoy these games (I'd kind of forgotten), is because of the connections made. I may look back and remember winning certain competitions, but I always remember the bonds, connections, and good times in the games. I start out trying to be a bad-ass, realize I'm not, then revert to the loyalty card. I'd like to play this type of game, without giving up what I want because of an assumed loyalty toward an alliance, etc. Basically, I'm just saying you should be seeing a decent Shawna, but not a doormat Shawna.
- Chase is as fun as ever and it will be hard not to want to slip back into that comfortable Season 3 position. But, I have to branch out in this game. That's the goal.
- I need to be more careful when chatting. I've already said the wrong thing to the wrong person - thinking I was talking to Sydney when I was talking to Alex. Not a huge deal but enough to remind me to pay more attention.
And, last but not least...
- Swim into the wave! When a giant wave containing 35 votes is about to crash down upon you, don't fight it! Swim into it, become one with the wave. As long as you don't panic, you should be able to swim out the other side once most of its force has been exhausted.

This was the most organized confessional I have ever read.

I'll take that as a compliment. Plus, you remind me of someone so I like you!

Jonas is now gone. *moment of silence* Seriously, I never really knew Jonas but it's gotta suck to be the first player out in any game, let alone All-Stars. At least he should take it as an honor vote - people saw something in him that scared them.
In other news, I've been asked by two different people today (DD and Sydney) what my relationship with Chase is. I get it. People are expecting Chase and I to automatically align and here we are on the same tribe. I explained it to them both, we did our little happy-dance about being aligned, but really the only thing it's left me with is the feeling that Sydney/DD have a pre-game alliance. I mean, I was suggested to Sydney by DD for this trio and we ended up on a tribe together. I'm flattered, yes, but seems I'm on the bottom of the triangle. Honestly, I don't really care that much because the odds of all three of us surviving to the end are not that great but I'm feeling kinda lucky about my odds right now. Blame it on the rain, or the wine, or whatever you want to blame it on.
Sounds like we've solidified the 4-way alliance of Sydney, DD, Kourtney and I. We have a name - I won't spoil it because there is supposed to be a graphic coming...but you can always run to Kourtney's room if you wanna know because I have a feeling she posts every third thought in her confessional. Okay, that was sarcastic but I love ya Kourtney!
Anyway, YAY for our tribe's survival and looking forward to the challenge tomorrow night!!
