I had a dream last night that the Phoenix burst forth from the fires of Andouille. But in the process, something must have gone horribly wrong. The bird that emerged did not fly majestically. It clattered to the side and tumbled down the rocks.
It was not one with the flames, rather the flames had consumed it and it hadn't survived the eruption. This was troubling to say the least. On a night such as this night, when there is everything to play for, it's a harrowing thought.
The tables have turned on me now. If what I wrought here today fails, my own fires will extinguish. Kim has decided that I'm to be the hit and just one of these people must fall for that to happen. With five, it's entirely possible one won't make it through.
I hope that everything works out, but living this close to the edge is worrisome. Maybe the dream was just a possible future, one that I need to strive to avoid. Maybe it means I'm walking a path I shouldn't be. It's hard to say.
Maybe it's just my own fears born into dream form. Or maybe, just maybe, it's a sign of the true future to come. Harrowing.

I wonder if my premonition was in relation to the fact I was almost killed or something else yet to come. I suppose time will tell on that one. I remain on Poseidon. Though water is the natural enemy of the Phoenix, I'm not worried for the immediate future. It's the darker distant future that is keeping me awake.
